Automotive Manufacturing OEE System
Mitsui Components Europe Limited manufacture high quality door closure systems for the Automotive industry from its site in Ammanford, Wales.
Continued success has ensured frequent and significant inward investment in production automation, quality analysis and measurement technologies, and machinery to enhance onsite operating capabilities, minimising reliance on external suppliers, ensuring maximum control and manufacturing efficiency.
A PlantRun system is used to monitor six assets including hot and cold rivet machines, CEMSA welding machines, TBE Multiform-SP and AGME Control Plate.
Each machine is equipped with an operator interface using Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 tablets provided by the customer. The interactive tablet display provides the machine operator with comprehensive functionality allowing interaction with the system without leaving the production area.
Data is processed in real-time at a central server and becomes immediately available on PCs, laptops, tablets and smartphones. PlantRun Display Node hardware allows connection of large screen TV to display KPI to inform and motivate staff and show custom messages such as Health & Safety.
Shifts, operator, product and job/works order are tracked. Multi level downtime reason selection allows for detailed capture of lost time as well as all short stoppage durations. Built in tools allow analysis and reporting and data can be exported for use in preferred reporting tools or dashboards. Emailing and automatic report facility enables reports to be generated to pdf at timed intervals, such as shift end and automatically emailed to users. An ideal time saver for regular meetings.
PlantRun Resonse Time Tracking facility provides ‘andon’ style call functionality by pressing a button on the operator tablet. This allows the machine operator to call for assistance from maintenance department to a breakdown in order to minimise downtime and lost production. Call requests are sent via SMS text message to on duty maintenance engineers. Call requests can also display prioritised messages on large screen TV’s through Display Node hardware. Times for engineer response and repairs are tracked.
Integration with ERP/Planning & Scheduling and CMMS system enables full digitalisation and paperless manufacturing.
