Machine Operator Efficiency (MOE)

The efficiency of machine operators can often be the most significant factor in improving manufacturing performance. Being able to track and analyse operator efficiency is crucial to this improvement.

PlantRun allows you to track operator performance and tells you which operator
  • Produces most good product
  • Creates least scrap
  • Has the lowest amount of downtime or number of breakdowns
  • Loses more time due to late start, early finish and extended breaks
By having operators log on when they start working at a machine and log off when they finish at the machine their time at the machine is recorded. PlantRun can then provide you with machine operator efficiency in real-time or over any period, as operator OEE (MOE).

Built in tools allow reporting based on operator efficiency and analysis of operator performance  against product, batch, shift or downtime.

You can identify the operators with best and worst performance. Why are your best operators the best operators – find out their ‘best practice’ and teach that to your other operators. Maybe you need to reallocate your less efficient staff to other machines or duties or provide re-training.

Perhaps your operators are over burdened and you need to employ more staff.  If you are regularly seeing downtime attributed to  ‘Operator unavailable, working on other machine’ you may be understaffed.

These management decisions are much easier when you have accurate machine operator efficiency data available in real time – just one of the many benefits PlantRun provides.
