Plantrun is a PC based system that runs on Microsoft Windows operating system. Typically a centrally located PC is connected to any number of machines using existing computer networking. Compact keypad terminals sited adjacent to the machines act as an interface between the PC and machines allowing operator interaction with the system. Plantrun continuously monitors the machine status and records all downtime. Operators select downtime reasons for major stoppages via the terminals. Plantrun also monitors any other production parameter such as product and scrap counts. The data is turned into 'live' real-time information that is distributed wherever it is needed, enterprise wide. Information is made available in many forms. An overview display allows production status to be seen at a glance. Displays for individual machines show detailed KPI information. Operator terminals and large screen displays relay KPI's to the shop floor. System information and supervisory access can be made available from any desktop PC. Flexible alarm facilities enable fast reaction to production disturbances as they develop. Alerts can be sent to any desktop PC, mobile phone, email inbox, public address system as well as trigger sounders, beacons and andons. All information is stored indefinitely and can be used for analysis and tracking of any parameter using reports, dashboard viewers and trending facilities. Plantrun's report facility makes it easy to edit or create reports and systems are supplied with a customised set of reports that are ready to use. Reports can show any KPI information including OEE. They can be generated automatically or on demand, printed, emailed stored in pdf format or sent via mobile phone SMS text message. Plantrun goes beyond reporting and analysis to speed changeovers, improve scheduling and planning, reduce materials waiting time, improve maintenance efficiency and maintenance scheduling, eliminate over runs. Specialised facilities including recipe and batch handling, SPC, Expert System and sophisticated sequence control to handle even the most complex of applications. Unique passwords and priveleges can be assigned to each user. This ensures security and limits system access to a level relevant to each user. Passwords allow user tracking for analysis of operator effectiveness. For regulated industries enhanced security enables digital signatures and audit trail for full traceability.
